I especially appreciate that you continued the Scripture Index in the same format. I really use them for teaching purposes since, as Dallas rightly states, the Bible not the series is the authority.
You put out a questionnaire, presumably to continue to string us along about what we would prefer as you move back to finishing the promised Chosen Scripture references and commentaries. There is still no movement on these yet you continue to work on other content. Is your plan to go from show to show grabbing subscribers only to leave then in the lurches as you then jump to new shows to increase the numbers while never actually satisfying anyone? I and others are feeling very used here.
I cited The Chosen and Noah as the two things I wanted to get back to. Noah is mostly written already and just needs formatting, and I was waiting to get feedback about how to proceed with The Chosen. Most of the people who voted thought I should move The Chosen S1 to this Substack, so I might do that next -- or, if you'd prefer, I can do the next episode in S3 (which is also mostly written) and *then* transfer S1.
Regarding the most recent post on The Promised Land, I started it before I put out the questionnaire, so I needed to finish it, and there are only two episodes left in that series so it should be done very soon. I'm basically rotating between the three things -- hopefully doing one chapter of Noah each week, plus one post on The Chosen or The Promised Land each week -- while also keeping up with the news, etc.
It has been 2-1/2 years since any new Scripture Indexes have been produced. This appears to be well beyond "a busy few months (and a busy year in general.)" Episode recaps are nice but we can always watch them for ourselves. The thing that is far more valuable for those of us who are teaching Bible studies based on The Chosen are the Scripture Indexes. This is the content that enticed me (and many others it seems) to subscribe. I'm starting to feel like this subscription was a bait and switch.
I am happy to say that Mr. Chattaway has begun to make good on his commitment to subscribers and has been producing content on The Chosen episodes and is almost finished with Season 3. The quality is every bit as good as what we have become accustomed to for seasons 1 and 2. I look forward to seeing the rest of season 3 as well as seasons 4 and 5. Because of the delay in the release of season 6, I hope that Mr. Chattaway will be all caught up by that time.
I quite agree with Lucinda and almost feel as if I was tricked into subscribing to your content. We were promised that by subscribing we would be able to get the rest of the Scripture references to the Chosen but none has been forthcoming. It has been 2-1/2 years since subscribing and not one single new Scripture reference list has been posted. I myself made multiple requests and got almost the verbatim response as Ms Hurlow. I was asked to be patient through personal issues, which I have been, as well as the fact that you have chosen to jump to other projects after promising multiple times to return to finish the content that we paid to receive. I wonder whether your new subscribers from your new projects will also be cheated out of what they subscribed to as you jump to other new projects as they arrive on the scene. It appears that you give your subscribers just enough to get their money and then move to new projects in order to entice more people to feed the coffers leaving loyal subscribers high and dry. With this tact you will soon run out of people willing to fork out money for something you seem to have no intention of proving.
My apologies, Diana. It's been a busy few months (and a busy year in general) with so many new Bible-themed projects coming out. I've been trying to keep on top of the scenes from The Chosen that get sneak-peeked, at least (plus I did do that deep dive into the Last Supper sequences earlier this year). Things look less busy in the new year, so I'm hoping to do some catching up then.
I have just subscribed, hoping that this would 'open' your commentary on the rest of the Season 3's episodes. Unfortunately I was disappointed to find that only the first episode is available. When can we expect the commentary on the next episodes, please? I need them quite urgently for the Bible classes I'm teaching.
Thank you for subscribing! Alas, my full-episode commentaries got sidelined by some real-life things -- a move to a new home, a medical emergency in the family, etc. -- and the fact that the episodes have gotten longer and more complex over the last two seasons hasn't helped! But I do hope to get back to them soon. In the meantime, I did write a few analyses of individual scenes that were released before and during the release of Season 4, and I have written rough notes on certain episodes from Seasons 3 and 4. You can find some of those posts via the tag for The Chosen, here: https://petertchattaway.substack.com/t/the-chosen
Hi Peter, it is now a month later and I've just made the second payment on my subscription. However, there have been no more in-depth analyses on the Season 3 (or 4) episodes. I would really appreciate it if you could at least complete Season 3 soon. I'm considering cancelling my subscription if I feel it is not providing the value I expected. Thank you!
Hi Peter, unfortunately I don't believe it is worth subscribing anymore as it seems there will be no more in-depth commentary on The Chosen from Season 3 Episode 2 onwards. Thank you for the work you put into the first 17 episodes of the series...it was helpful. I am disappointed that other films seem to be considered more worthy of your time and attention.
Great Job on Season 3!

Looking forward to Seasons 4 and 5!

Understood. I hope to say something more about this soon.

Thank you for that. I eagerly await the more thorough treatment of the the individual episodes as you did before, from S3 E2 onwards!
