Watch: The trailer for The Last Supper
The film, which stars a Bible-movie veteran as Caiaphas, comes to theatres March 14.

I’ve mentioned before that a movie called The Last Supper—produced by Pinnacle Peak, the studio behind God’s Not Dead and The Case for Christ—is coming to theatres in March. (Note: this is not to be confused with The Chosen: Last Supper, which is the official name for the theatrical release of The Chosen Season 5.)
Yesterday I watched a trailer for the film, and I found myself wondering why I recognized Caiaphas’s voice. (We hear it before we see the character, but even when we see him, the actor’s face is obscured by make-up and costume.)
A quick check of the internet revealed the answer: it’s James Faulkner! Easily one of my favorite interviewees ever—I spoke to him in 2018 when he played the title character in Paul, Apostle of Christ—and an actor with multiple Bible-movie credits to his name already. So, I am suddenly a lot more interested in this film.
You can check out the trailer for yourself here:
And now for a quick run-down of Faulkner’s Bible-movie roles (using screen captures that I originally created for my post on Downton Abbey actors who have Bible-movie experience; he played Lord Sinderby in that series).
First—and this is a bit of a cheat—he played Herod Agrippa in I, Claudius (1976), which isn’t a Bible movie per se, but the character is biblical (cf Acts 12):
Next, he played a Judaizer named Menahem in Peter and Paul (1981):
Then he played a Roman named Marcellus in Ben-Hur (2010):
Then he played Paul in Paul, Apostle of Christ (2018):
And now he is playing Caiaphas in The Last Supper (2025):
He also played Cardinal Vincini in The Devil Conspiracy (2022), a movie about angels, demons, and attempts to use the DNA of Jesus (taken from the Shroud of Turin) that falls well outside the scope of what I’d normally consider a “Bible movie”.
In addition to the trailer, Pinnacle Peak has released a few other videos to promote The Last Supper.
Here is a clip of the scene in which Jesus feeds the 5,000:
Here are two videos in which pastor Shaddy Soliman talks about the significance of the last supper in general, and the foot-washing in particular:
And here is a video in which Pinnacle Peak CEO Michael Scott talks about the film:
