Watch: The lead actors talk Mary and Joseph in a new Journey to Bethlehem featurette
The two-minute video includes a clip from one of their duets.
The publicity campaign for Journey to Bethlehem is ramping up.
Two weeks ago we got the first full trailer for the Nativity-themed musical, last week we got a featurette on the “heart” of the film, and now we have a video that profiles the two lead actors who are playing Mary and Joseph in the film.
You can watch the featurette here:
One key exchange:
Milo Manheim (Joseph): I feel like, for Mary, it’s probably a much deeper weight, because Joseph’s just a guy, but Mary’s obviously carrying the child of God.
Fiona Palomo (Mary): It’s a huge responsibility, but we will see through the movie that she couldn’t have done it without Joseph, so—
Manheim: What can I say?
Manheim also says he loves the mix of “ancient” story and “modern” music in the film.
Journey to Bethlehem marks the directorial debut of Adam Anders, a music producer on shows and films like Glee, The Prom, Rock of Ages, and The Passion: New Orleans; he wrote the script for this film with High School Musical’s Peter Barsocchini.
The film comes to theatres November 10, i.e. six weeks from now.
