Quick note
Still plugging away at The Chosen; might have to wait a while to continue The Old Stories: Moses.

Just a quick note to readers:
As you can see, I hit “publish” on my recap of The Chosen Season 4 Episode 2 today. I had hoped to get this one done a while ago, but this was a big episode—the longest to date, not counting end-credits sequences—and it got into a lot of potentially controversial topics, and I wanted to give them all their due while also being fairly pithy about it and not bogging the reader down in too much detail. Striking the right balance between too-much-information and not-enough—while also keeping the style fairly readable (hopefully)—took a long time. But I’m happy with it now.
I reserve the right to make further tweaks down the road, though. :)
In the meantime, in case anyone’s wondering whether I plan to write about the second and third episodes of The Old Stories: Moses—the answer is… I’d like to, but I currently have no way to see them, as the series is currently only available on Prime Video’s Wonder Project channel in the US. I was able to write about the first episode a couple weeks ago, because there are literally dozens of copies of it on DailyMotion, but there’s no obvious way to watch the other two episodes, and I’m not about to look into any non-obvious ways. I assume they’ll come to Prime Video in Canada at some point, the same way fellow Wonder Project productions like House of David Season 2 and It’s Not Like That did, so maybe I’ll write about them then.
Anyway, back to The Chosen: I continue to hope that I can crank out the recaps on a more-or-less weekly basis, though I have to say, Season 4 is pretty dense. It’s the longest season by far in terms of sheer runtime, and it has to cram what’s left of Jesus’ ministry (pre-Passion Week) into its eight episodes. So the next six recaps might take a little longer to dig into. (Might.) But as I’ve said before, Season 5 gets back to normal-length episodes, and I’ve already tackled a huge chunk of them by writing about the Last Supper sequences, which take up an entire episode’s worth of runtime. So hopefully that season will be less time-consuming. And then, hopefully, I’ll be all caught up before Season 6 starts streaming in November. Hopefully.
And now, I need a break. Looking forward to doing the next box-office report…
