How many Andor actors have also been in Bible movies?
A quick note about some updates I've made to my list of Star Wars actors who have also been in Bible movies.
Just a quick note to say that I have updated my post on Star Wars actors who have also been in Bible movies to include some images from the latest season of Andor, which wrapped last week.
I have also updated the section on the first season of Andor to make it more complete.
I originally wrote that post in 2023, just before the third season of The Mandalorian came out, and at the time, I limited my focus to actors who had been in full-fledged Star Wars movies or at least three episodes of any given series. (There were over 40 live-action Star Wars episodes at the time,1 and checking the filmographies of every single person who had been in those shows was just too daunting a task.)
However, as new shows and episodes came out after that—and as I updated the list to take the new shows into account—my completism kicked in, and I made a point of checking the filmographies of every credited actor… but just within the new episodes.
Now that the second season of Andor is here, though, I figured I’d do a more thorough job of that series, too—and so, I’ve gone back and checked the filmography of every one- or two-episode actor from the first season. And I made some fun discoveries along the way (it turns out a “Door Sentry” in Season 1 Episode 6 was played by an actor I met while visiting the set of Killing Jesus in 2014).
The end result? There are now twenty-seven Bible-movie veterans in that post who made their first Star Wars appearance in Andor—and there are another three who first appeared in Rogue One and then reprised their roles in Andor. So that brings the total number of Bible-movie veterans in Andor to thirty. (There would have been thirty-one if Bail Organa, who first appeared in the prequel trilogy, hadn’t been re-cast.)
Since creating the Star Wars list, I have created galleries for Bible-movie veterans from other franchises too, such as Harry Potter, Downton Abbey, Indiana Jones, Dune, Alien, The Exorcist, The Omen, and The Lord of the Rings. (You can see a list of all the galleries below or via this tag.)
I have updated most of those galleries since they were first posted, too, as new franchise entries like Dune: Prophecy have come out, and as new Bible movies and TV shows like House of David and The King of Kings have come out. And I plan to keep on updating those lists (I already know of at least one actor from Alien: Earth, which premieres in August, who will need to be added to the Alien gallery).
I have not yet gone back and checked the one- or two-episode actors from the other Star Wars shows that existed when I first made that list (The Mandalorian S1-S2, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi), but I might do that at some point.
And yes, I have ideas for other galleries I could make, when time permits.
In the meantime, enjoy.
I wrote the post in February 2023, when there were two seasons of The Mandalorian plus The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the first season of Andor. The Mandalorian 16 + The Book of Boba Fett 7 + Obi-Wan Kenobi 6 + Andor 12 = 41 episodes.
