House of David Season 2 to premiere this fall... on a new subscription service
The Wonder Project is launching its own streaming channel on Prime Video.
The second season of House of David is coming a lot sooner than expected… but you’ll have to pay an extra subscription fee to see it when it’s new.
Variety reports that The Wonder Project, the production company behind the series, is going to launch its own streaming channel on Prime Video sometime this fall.
The channel will have over a thousand hours of films and TV shows when it starts—chief among them the second season of House of David—and it will cost an additional $8.99 per month, on top of the basic Prime Video subscription fee.
It is not clear to me yet whether this channel will exist outside of the US. But House of David will become available on regular Prime Video globally “at a later date.”
The channel will also give subscribers “early access to new original films and series produced by Wonder Project.”
The first season of House of David came out between February and April of this year. If the second season starts streaming in just a few months, it would mark one of the shorter gaps between seasons since the streaming era began.1
This news also comes mere weeks after fans of The Chosen learned that they will have to wait longer than usual for the next season of that series. Season 5 played in theatres last March and April, and Season 6 won’t start coming out until the second half of 2026, with the finale getting a theatrical premiere in March 2027.
Interestingly, House of David creator Jon Erwin has said that he initially planned for his series to last three seasons. If he sticks to that plan—and if he makes Season 3 as quickly as he made Season 2—the entire series could be complete before the next season of The Chosen has finished coming out. We shall see.

Off the top of my head, the only comparable precedent that comes to mind is the seven-month gap between the first two seasons of Slow Horses, which came out on Apple TV+ in April and December 2022. Many shows have two- or even three-year gaps between seasons.
