Watch: Saul celebrates David's victory... for now... in House of David Season 2
In two new clips, Saul claims David's defeat of Goliath as a victory for Israel and, thus, as a vindication of his own kingship.

House of David Season 2 is almost here—just six months after Season 1 came to an end!—and we have a couple new clips to whet our appetites.
First, via BroadwayWorld, there is this clip from Episode 1, in which Saul proclaims David his “champion” after the defeat of Goliath (which happened at the end of Season 1) and the ensuing battle against the Philistines:
And then, via Collider, there is this clip from Episode 2, in which Saul presents David to a cheering crowd:
Of course, anyone who has read their Bible knows it won’t take long for Saul to begin seeing David as a threat to his rule, rather than a help to it. And presumably his growing paranoia (which is not entirely unjustified, given that the prophet Samuel did anoint David) will be one of the major narrative threads in Season 2.
House of David Season 2 will premiere this Sunday on the brand-new Wonder Project channel, which is available to Americans only (for now) via Prime Video for $8.99 per month. New episodes will arrive every Sunday until November 16.
The season will be available to Prime Video subscribers in the rest of the world some time after that, but no date for that has been set yet. As ever, stay tuned.
October 4 update: A few more clips have come my way.
First, this clip of the battle that begins after Goliath’s death, in Episode 1:
Second, this clip of David saying goodbye to his father Jesse in Episode 2:
And third, ScreenRant has a clip of David and Mychal being reunited.
