Watch: Jesus blesses a betrothed couple in a clip from The Chosen Season 5
A few thoughts on the scene's sources and implications.
Last week, for Christmas, The Chosen creator Dallas Jenkins released another new clip from Season 5 of his series, which is coming to theatres in three months.
Unlike some of the other sneak peeks we’ve seen, this one is taken from a completely fictitious scene, and it doesn’t feature any biblical characters aside from Jesus, so it doesn’t invite the same sort of compare-and-contrast with the gospels that some of the other clips have.
But it does quote a few biblical passages, it reflects (and possibly ignores) certain Jewish traditions, and it suggests a few things about the approach that The Chosen is taking to the events of Holy Week. So, I have a few thoughts.
