Video round-up: Light of the World! The Book of Clarence! The Chosen!
A promo video, a music video, and an upcoming livestream.
There hasn’t been any major Bible-movie news this week—yet—but we did get a couple new videos, plus there is a livestream coming up this weekend that will include a major announcement or two (e.g. the release date(s) for The Chosen Season 5).
First, there is this video promoting Light of the World, an animated movie due next year that tells the story of Jesus through the eyes of his young disciple John:
The pitch here is pretty basic, but I’m intrigued by a few details, like the way Jesus’ eyes seem to pop open, surprised, at the 3:15 mark.
As I’ve noted before, this is one of a few animated Jesus projects that have been announced in recent months. Others include: The King of Kings, a South Korean adaptation of Charles Dickens’ The Life of Our Lord that is aiming for an Easter 2025 release; an animated version of Campus Crusade’s 1970s Jesus film, which is currently aiming for a 2026 release; and, as of a few weeks ago, The Chosen Adventures, an animated spin-off of The Chosen that is due sometime next year.
Next, The Book of Clarence director Jeymes Samuel released a new music video this week for a song from the movie’s soundtrack called ‘Nazarene’:
I’m not entirely sure why this video is coming out now, given that the film came and went from theatres several months ago. But hey, it’s a good song, so I’ll take it.

And finally, The Chosen creator Dallas Jenkins is hosting another livestream on Sunday night, partly to promote his new movie The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, but also to announce what The Chosen Season 5’s release date(s) will be.
You can watch the livestream here on Sunday at 4pm PST / 7pm EST:
I may have more to say about the livestream later, depending on what gets revealed.
But for now, the important thing to know is that The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is coming to theatres November 8, with early access screenings on Saturday November 2. The early screenings will include an exclusive sneak peek of The Chosen Season 5, and you can get free children’s tickets to at least some of those screenings.
