Video round-up: David! The Promised Land! The Carpenter's Son!
A new trailer gives us a better look at the Philistines and Amalekites in Angel Studios' David; Moses tries his hand at stand-up comedy; and The Carpenter's Son has a few new clips.
David — a couple new trailers
This is it: after four years of development, crowd-funding, and a bit of legal wrangling, the animated David is finally coming to theatres. Early access screenings are taking place this Sunday the 14th, preview screenings are taking place Thursday the 18th, and the official release date is next Friday the 19th.
To mark the occasion, Angel Studios has released one last trailer:
Notably, this trailer gives us our best look yet at the Philistines, including King Achish and Goliath, the latter of whom is still kept out-of-focus:
The trailer also features several shots of the Amalekites, such as this one:
The studio has also released a 30-second ad, which is titled ‘David and Goliath Like You’ve Never Seen’ even though you don’t actually see Goliath in it:

The Promised Land — some new featurettes
The Promised Land may have finished its first-season roll-out in late October, but the producers are still releasing new videos every Wednesday, including behind-the-scenes featurettes and, this week, a clip of Moses (Wasim No’mani) trying his hand at stand-up comedy. (A recurring joke in the series is that Moses—who isn’t very good at public speaking, as per Exodus 4:10—also isn’t very good at telling jokes.)
Here’s a featurette on ‘The Heart Behind the Show’:
Here are a couple of videos about the first two weeks of shooting Season 1:
And here is Moses’ “stand-up comedy special”:

The Carpenter’s Son — a few new clips
The Carpenter’s Son came out on digital video this week—nearly two months after its theatrical release—and the distributor has released a few more clips from the film.
IGN posted this clip of an ex-leper creeping up on the teenaged Jesus:
Fandango posted this clip of Satan attacking Joseph, until Jesus arrives:
And Collider has a clip in which Joseph accuses Jesus of black magic.
If I come across any more clips in the next few days, I’ll add them to this post.
