First look: House of David season 2
The first two episodes will premiere on The Wonder Project's brand new Prime Video channel October 5.

It’s not often a show gets a second season the same year the first season came out. The last time I can remember it happening with any of the shows I watch was when Slow Horses released its first two seasons on Apple TV+ in April and December 2022.
Now it’s House of David’s turn to show how quickly it can be done. The first season of the Bible-based series came out on Prime Video between February and April this year, and today it was announced that Season 2 will premiere on October 5—just six months and two days after the first-season finale started streaming.
There’s a catch, though: the new season will only be available (at first) to Prime Video subscribers in the US, and specifically to those who pay an extra $8.99 per month or $89.99 per year to get the Wonder Project’s brand new add-on subscription, which will be aimed at “the faith and values audience” within the United States.
The new season will become available on regular Prime Video “globally at a later date,” but there is no word yet on how much later that will be.
In any case, The Wonder Project released some images today from the new House of David season—which, as per the season’s official description, will follow “the aftermath of the battle between David and Goliath and David’s rise to the throne. As he navigates palace politics, his family’s jealousy, and a growing romance, David steps deeper into his destiny and learns what it means to become a great leader.”
One of those images is at the top of this post (I don’t know what’s in that bag that David is holding, but I know what I’d like it to be…),1 and you can see the others here:
In addition to House of David, the Wonder Project streaming channel will host films and series that “embody the company’s mission of entertaining the world with courageous stories, inspiring hope and restoring faith in things worth believing in.”
These will include:
TV shows like Mr. Bean, Party of Five, Pride and Prejudice, Sherlock, Roseanne spin-off The Conners, and The Mysterious Benedict Society (a Disney+ show that was removed from the platform during their “content purge” in 2023).
And movies like Jesus Revolution and American Underdog—both of which were co-directed by Wonder Project co-founder and House of David creator Jon Erwin—as well as Dead Poets Society, Friday Night Lights, Lincoln, My Girl, Rudy, The Sandlot, The Sound of Music, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (the Ben Stiller version, I’m assuming, and not the Danny Kaye version I grew up with).
All told, the channel will have more than 125 licensed titles—and over 1,000 hours of content—when it launches October 5.
There is no trailer for House of David Season 2 yet, but I’m sure that will come.
As ever, stay tuned.
