Box office: Wicked, Gladiator II set new records
Also: "faith-based" audiences turned out for Bonhoeffer and the third weekend of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

A few of this week’s highlights:
Wicked had the best opening weekend, by far, of any musical that wasn’t a Disney cartoon or a remake of a Disney cartoon.
Gladiator II had the best weekend gross of any #2 movie since Oppenheimer, and the best opening weekend of any Denzel Washington movie ever.
Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin. is on track to have the best opening of any Angel Studios release that wasn’t biblical or directed by Alejandro Monteverde.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is now the 4th-highest-grossing “faith-based” film of the decade, and likely to be the 2nd-highest within a week or two.
