Box office: 28 Years Later sets series high, while Elio marks new Pixar low
28 Years Later revived its franchise with the best opening ever for director Danny Boyle, while Elio had Pixar's worst opening ever even before taking up to 30 years of inflation into account.

A few of this week’s highlights:
How to Train Your Dragon topped the list for a second week, making this the fifth week in a row—including Lilo & Stitch’s first three weeks—that live-action remakes of animated movies have been #1 at the box office.
28 Years Later, the third film in the zombie series that began with 2002’s 28 Days Later, had the best opening by far of any Danny Boyle film.
Elio—the first animated film from a major studio since Dog Man came out five months ago—had the worst opening of any Pixar movie ever (not counting the three films that went straight to Disney+ a few years ago).
